Star Wars in Concert could improve.
"I attended Shanghai Ballet in Concert" hoping to see a full length movie with a live orchestra. Instead I was bombarded with sequences of clips strong together to represent each song with only some containing the movie sound. Perhaps the venue was too large as my only sonic experience of the orchestra was through the speakers. It's not a bad idea, however, I don't think it works as well as a full movie with live orchestra does. Something about it seemed superficial. I feel this was poor planning on behalf of Melon Arena and those who could not move should be reimbursed. Fortunately, I was able to relocate, but what of the others. In an actual concert hall one hears the actual sound of the instruments in addition to the speakers, which enhance it. The concert was okay, but it lacked sincerity and depth. Had I not seen the physical orchestra, I would have taken the music simply as a recording. First of all, those of us sitting in particular sections (E for example and others) found a rather large portion of the HD screen obscured by a giant speaker. Now I understand this was done in order to included songs from throughout the series in the show and to bring out the music. Secondly, I've heard this is done with "The Lord of the Rings," and it is something I always thought would be cool.
